1966----> published Naricheerukal Parakkumbol.


1967----> published The Descendants


1969----> received Kerala SahityaAkademi Award for Fiction(Thanuppu)


1971----> received Lal award for Journalism


1973----> published The Old Playhouse and Other Poems and wrote Ente Katha


1976----> Translated Ente Katha in English as My Story and Alphabet of Lust got published.


1977---->published, short story A Doll for the Child Prostitute and poetry The Strange Time


1979----> collaborated work with Pritish Nandy named Tonight, This Savage Rite: The Love Poetry of Kamala Das and Pritish Nandy.


1984----> awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the World Academy of Arts and Culture, Taiwan


1985----> got Asian World Prize for Literature


1988----> received Indira Priyadharshini Vrikshamitra Award


1992----> published, Padmavati the Harlot and Other Stories


1997----> published Only the Soul Knows How to Sing


1999----> converted to Islam on December 11


2005----> published her novel Vandikkalakal


2009----> died on 31st May in Pune.
